When every word counts, you don’t need a newbie: you need experience, confidence, and proven results. I have over 12 years of experience as a Cincinnati copywriter, running the gamut from technical documentation and e-commerce to hundreds of web pages and blog articles.

Before launching my Cincinnati freelance writing business, I spent 5 years as an E-Commerce Content Manager for two major luxury retail websites, which entailed cranking out product descriptions, category pages, marketing emails, and editorial articles. Prior to that, I worked as a Technical Writer for a legal software company, where I created end-user documentation, newsletters, and marketing materials.

Since launching Words by Melissa full-time in 2007, I’ve been leveraging my unique mix of skills to provide companies like yours with tight, thoughtful content that connects emotionally with customers and compels them to action.

Will you find freelance writers who are cheaper or faster than me? Of course. But I’ll do everything I can — thorough research and discovery, careful crafting of words, and unlimited revisions — to be the best.

I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and earned my Bachelor’s in English from the University of Cincinnati. Today, I live in a suburb of Cincy with my husband and three daughters, ages 2, 4, and 6. When I’m not working (it does happen occasionally — okay, rarely), I’m probably out running, hiding in a closet with a good book and a bottle of nail polish, or sitting in a school drop-off lane.
